I recently instagrammed a picture of my DIY'd Spike Drop Necklace and had a few people asking me how I made it. It's so simple so I thought I'd put together a quick tutorial to show you how you can make your own.
This time I'm putting together a bracelet - but the same rules apply for a necklace, just use a longer length of chain and more spikes!
What You Need
Silver Spikes - eBay
Silver 5mm Jump Rings - eBay
Silver Chunky Chain - eBay
Two Pairs of Pliers - Local DIY Shop
001#
Start by laying out your design - you'll get an idea of how many spikes you want to use and how many jump rings you'll need. Choose the length of chain by measuring it around your wrist.
002#
You need to open each jump ring with pliers - hook it through a loop on the chain - add a drop spike
and then close up the jump ring again.
003#
I spaced out the spikes with two links in between each one. But you can use less or more.
004#
Attach a clasp closure using the same method of opening and closing the jump rings.
I took this clasp from an old necklace I never wear any more.
005#
And your bracelet is finished! Try it on for size. You can always remove or add links if needed.
