This Friday I'm going to show you how you can paint your own camouflage nails. Camouflage and khaki are everywhere at the moment (I'm still trying to find the perfect camo jacket) and this trend is going to be huge for Autumn/Winter 2012. So why not have on-trend nails too? This Friday's DIY post will be a quick and easy nail tutorial - because I haven't done one in so long. This one really is simple. Enjoy!
All you need are a bunch of nail polishes in camo print colours - browns, greens, and a white and black too.
Start by filing and shaping clean nails. Then paint your nails in the lightest brown colour. I'm starting with an MUA polish. You could also use a pale grey to begin with.
Using a green - paint on 'branches' rather than blobs or stripes. You want the branches of colour to reach across your nail but not to be too uniform in shape or placement. Next add a lighter green, followed by a dark brown and then finally add touches of black and white. Allow each colour to peek through.
The black really pulls the whole design together - but you don't need much of it. My top tip is not to overload your brush.
Finish with a top coat (I used Seche Vite) and you're all done. See, I told you it was easy! Wear your new camo nails with a simple black dress and khaki jacket. See my entire outfit post featuring these nails tomorrow. Let me know what you think in the comments below and send me a photo if you try this out for yourself!
