The prints are in trend right now. First you have the ombre trends, such as the ombre studded sweater. This time, it’s the galaxy prints!
You will see people wearing galaxy print tights, galaxy print hoodies, galaxy print t-shirts and even galaxy print skirts. To follow this trend, you do not have to pay a lot of dollars to these expensive clothing stores because with the help of this post, you will be able to make your own DIY galaxy print t-shirt. After creating this, you can match it with an awesome denim shorts that you made. Just follow these easy steps to design your very own galaxy print t-shirts, you can even choose to earn money by selling them as well.
Here is a list of every little thing that you will require in making your own DIY galaxy print t-shirts.
- A dark coloured t-shirt, it is best if you use a black one
- An empty and clean spray bottle
- An old toothbrush with firm yet soft bristles
- Purple acrylic or fabric paint
- Red acrylic or fabric paint
- Blue acrylic or fabric paint
- Yellow acrylic or fabric paint
- White acrylic or fabric paint
Step Number 1: Prepping the shirt
The first thing that you need to make sure is that the shirt that you are using is clean and ironed i.e. it contains no spots or wrinkles. Now, lay your shirt down straight on the floor and take out any clinks from it. Now, fill the clean spray bottle with half bleach and half water. Then shake the bottle vigorously after putting on its cap. Use this mixture to spray on the shirt in an uneven manner. Make sure to spray more on the areas where you want your cosmos. The colour of your shirt will quickly start to resemble the colour orange but, you must still wait for it to dry and lighten completely. It will take almost an hour or two for the shirt to be completely ready. So, you can go do your other chores, or read a book or simply take a nap and relax. You can also check out things that people might do to get over a break-up just to occupy your time.
Step Number 2: Add in the Purple
Soak your sponge in a little water and then dab it in the purple acrylic or fabric paint and keep dabbing it onto the darkest areas of your shirt. Wait till it dries a little.
Step Number 3: Add in the Blue
Do the same with the blue fabric or acrylic paint as you did with the purple one. But, you must dab the blue paint along the lines of the purple bleach spots and make sure to dab the blue paint more in the centre.
Step Number 4: Using the red for blending the orange
Now, use the red acrylic or fabric paint to blend the orange bleach spots and dab the red paint along the lines of the purple and blue paint to create some dimension.
Step Number 5: Add in the white
After you are done with the rest of the colours, now add in the white acrylic or fabric paint to the centres of the bleach spots to help them stand out.
Step Number 6: Add in the stars
Now we will add the stars onto your shirt. This step is a little messy so you must place your shirt over a newspaper or a sheet to save your floor. This step will also require a lot of trials and error and you will not be able to master it without any practice. So, practice making the stars on a rough surface. To make the stars, take your old toothbrush and bend its bristles so it can flatter around like white flecks. Then dab it in a little water and then dab it in the white paint. Now, sprinkle the white paint off your brush with the help of your thumb or your index finger. Make sure to sprinkle the white paint from different angles and keep increasing and decreasing the distance to create stars of different sizes to depict the realistic picture of the galaxy. When these sprinkled stars completely dry, make diamonds to show shining stars with the help of a thin paint brush.
Step Number 7: Finishing touches
Now make sure to dry your shirt and then once it has completely dried, gentle wash it to remove the excess paint off from the shirt. And there you have it, your own one-of-a-kind galaxy print t-shirt. Get ready your low messy hair bun paired with the perfect bag, and you are ready to go on a date!
