Do you have a perfume in your collection that reminds you of a certain moment in time whenever you spritz it? Maybe you have a few fragrances each one evoking its own unique story. We can form emotional bonds with scents and sometimes all it takes is a quick spray of perfume to take us back to that prominent memory. To celebrate National Fragrance Day on on the 21st March, alongside The Fragrance Foundation and The Library of Fragrance I'm exploring my own favourite scent memories.
Salt Air & Sunshine
Mixing these two light fragrances together takes me to the seaside and to those family holidays by the coast. Salt Air is a very subtle cool fragrance warmed up by Sunshine which has hints of sun cream on warm skin.
Exactly as it sounds, light, fresh and clean. Who wouldn't want to be reminded of curling up in freshly washed bed sheets. But more romantically, Clean Sheets smells just like my boyfriend's skin (he's not a typical smelly man, he actually always smells sweet and scrubbed - how annoying!)
Not being a coffee drinker you'd think I would shy away from a scent called 'Espresso' but I actually love the smell of fresh coffee! To me this Espresso has been slightly sweetened, and reminds me of my sister. When she's around, coffee is being brewed and fills the house. There's no better smell to wake up to.
